Nakamoto-san, who inspired my character Umeji Tatsuya in my Liminal Chronicles series, is doing a fundraiser to help kids in need and provide employment for ex-mobsters like himself.
If you saw the NHK documentary about an ex-yakuza (Nakamoto-san) starting an Udon shop after leaving the mob, you might wonder how he and his friends are doing now. I remember how they talked about how hard it is to start over in Japan.
I had the pleasure of meeting Nakamoto-san when I visited Japan this spring. (Seriously, he serves the BEST udon I had in Japan!) He has a heart for helping the youth of the area and guys like him who are starting over. So I wanted to share that he’s doing a fundraiser to continue helping others.
If you’re interested in checking out his fundraiser, here are the fundraiser links and some help with translation.

If you need help with translation, DeepL is much better than Google.
If you wish to donate and don’t live in Japan, here are instructions in English (from another already completed project).
Thanks for reading about this incredible fundraiser! <3
As I sign off, I’ll remind you to…Be the Difference. Be extraordinary.
All the best,
